About DJ J.Kino

DJ J.Kino, also known as Jayson "Jay" Aquino, born and raised in the city of Los Angeles, Ca. A first generation Filipino whose love for music started as a young kid in the mid 1980s listening to old-school hip hop, house, and R&B his older cousins would use to play on their boom box. For Christmas, J.Kino asked his parents for his own tape player boom box, it was then he found love for sound. Fiddling with the EQ, he learned music can be tweaked by the lows, mids, and highs. His first tape single he played in his boom box was Sir Mix Alot- Baby got back at the age of 11 years old.

Growing up surrounded by party crews, music, and house parties, DJ J.Kino would stare and listen in as DJs mixed, scratch, and used their talent in making the crowd move to the beat. He was amazed on how one person in control of music can be the life of the party. J.Kino hung out with DJs, helped setup equipment, followed them around, analyzed, and learned techniques of the trade. A lot of his experience came from college Fraternity/ Sorority parties during his tenure at Cal Poly Pomona, school of Electrical Engineering. DJ J.Kino thanks his mentors G. Castro, R. Sierra, and A. Martinez (DJ iamJAM) for introducing their DJ skills and talents.

With many years of experience, DJ J.Kino has MC (master of ceremonies) and DJ weddings, special events, charity events, house parties, debuts, night clubs, holiday parties, school functions, and independent movie premiers.

J.Kino Currently is the resident DJ and MC for White Rabbit Truck & White Rabbit Cafe. In addition, resident DJ for The BLVD Hotel and Spa

DJ J.Kinos seeks residency in the hottest Hollywood and Las Vegas Clubs. His passion and ambition is to ultimately travel the world with his music and entertain the masses.
